What is Polyurethane Foam?

Polyurethane Foam According to EuroPUR a standardization and certification of different types of PUR based in Belgium, Polyurethane Foam can be simplified as a chemical reaction of polyols and diisocyanates. The two are the product extrapolated of crude oils. Different types of additives are used to come up with high-quality products and depending on what is going to be used.



There are three types of PU Foam in the Kenyan market namely multipurpose PU foam, fire-rated PU Foam and Thermal and acoustic PU foam. The packaging size commonly that you will find is 750ml or 300ml in a box of twelve.

In Kenya, Polyurethane Foam has not been in use for long and more often you will come across hardware shops and construction site that still do not see the use of stocking or using it. Before Polyurethane Foam was in the Kenyan market were introduced, cement was the most commonly used in place of PU Foam.

Uses of PU Foam in a construction site
